At Pottermore Publishing, it’s important to us that as many people as possible are able to experience the magic of the wizarding world. With this in mind, we have signed the Publishing Accessibility Action Group (PAAG) Charter and we’re working on making our books and marketing materials more accessible.
As a digital only publisher, we’re able to lean into the qualities of eBooks and audiobooks which allow content to adapt to the needs of the audience. This policy details the actions we’re taking to improve the accessibility of our products and to meet our commitment to supporting a diverse readership.

Accessible Marketing:
The following features are incorporated into all our marketing materials:
Quality Assurance and Testing:
We conduct regular audits to identify and address any quality issues in our products. This includes automated testing of our eBooks using validation software, manual reviews across five different e-readers, and coordinating with our distribution partners to address typos, formatting, and translation errors. This ensures our products remain as relevant as possible to the technology and platforms users are accessing our content on. Our audiobooks go through multiple rounds of quality control checks throughout the production process, from script-review to narration-to-text accuracy and sound design mixing.
Employee Awareness:
We are in the process of implementing resources for our employees to promote awareness and understanding of Pottermore’s accessibility principles and practices. Our accessibility commitments have become part of our employee onboarding process to ensure that new team members understand the importance of embracing these practices and are equipped to contribute to the creation of accessible digital content.
Continuous Improvement:
We are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our products and marketing materials and are constantly exploring ways to support our diverse readership. We welcome feedback regarding accessibility concerns or suggestions for improvement. We appreciate that accessibility is not linear and that there will always be room for improvement and would encourage people to contact: [email protected] for any other access requests.
By implementing this Accessibility Policy, we aim to remove barriers and make our products as accessible as possible to individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity, and equal access to information and literature. We will regularly review and update this policy to reflect advancements in accessibility practices and technologies.
